The project organized a pilot (online) at Kilpisjärvi school, located in the northern Lapland, Finland. Altogether, 18 school children and 4 teachers participated in the pilot and demo session, which links to the school’s upcoming Sámi national day program. Through the remote connection, Saija and Matilda from University of Lapland project team presented the digital archives search service, and showed how it is possible to search old historical materials related to Sámi culture. Even though some of the materials are archived far away in other countries, digital technology can provide an opportunity to access them and learn about the old days. The (online) visit to the school was well received, and vivid and enthusiastic discussions took place. The project wishes to thank the Kilpisjärvi school for the opportunity!
